National movement calls to show through actions opposition to Majlis Privileges Bill

National Movement has called the members who claim to not support the Peoples' Majlis Privileges Bill passed in the Majlis to show their opposition to the bill through their actions.

Speaking at the rally of the movement held last night at the artificial beach area, Spokesperson of the National Movement, Abdullah Mohamed said it is not enough to just say that we do not vote in favour of it or that we do not support the bill. He said that they should raise the concerns of the bill in the Majlis and submit them back to the Majlis floor and amend the bill.

Abdullah said that if the members are sincere to the people they would show their opposition to the bill instead of merely doing lip-service.

In addition to Abdullah accused some members of taking bribes from parties. He said that the MPs have been playing their dramas in return for the bribes they took from the parties.

"With only a few we succeeded in the issue of GMR. Therefore, we are sure that we will succeed in rectifying the Majlis. And we will do it," he said.

Speaking at the rally, Sandhaanu Ahmed Didi said that criticizing the members does not mean it is interfering with the privileges and powers of the members.

"Even if its prostitution, theft, loan debts, if it is mentioned they rejoice over it," he said.

Ahmed Didi said that there are members who have sold themselves and MP Ali Waheed is a perfect example of this. He said that he boasted that he is the most expensive member in the Majlis.
