MPs raise concern for delaying important matters from agenda
Members of the People' Majlis has raised concern regarding the delaying of important matters from the Majlis agenda.
Milandhoo constituency MP Riza said that a person is able to save money to perform Hajj pilgrimage after working all his life and when the payment is made to the Hajj group they steal it. He said that this is a serious issue of concern.
In this regard, Riza said that the rights of all those who paid Maleesha Hajj group have been violated and the Majlis is already late in taking a decision regarding the matter.
"It's been one year since the matter was submitted to the Majlis. Perhaps some of them are now already deceased. However we are still in the debate phase. Therefore we should introduce a procedure to give precedence to matters of importance," he said.
MP Riza said that this is not something that has occured for the first time but this has happened several times in the past and the government resolved them.
"Now we should check how much wealth the owner of this group have. It should be sold. And even after that if it does not cover the money stolen from the people than we should seek a way to give financial assistance to them through the budget. We should send them to Hajj even by getting foreign aid," he said.
Members said that it is unfortunate that the criminal is set free without being punished for his crime and oppression on the people.
