President Meets Prime Minister of Qatar 

President Dr Mohamed Waheed, who is currently on an official visit to Qatar, has met with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani. The meeting was held yesterday evening at the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the meeting, the President briefed the Prime Minister on the socio-economic progress that the Maldives is making, as well as the challenges the country is facing in this area.

The President also briefed the Prime Minister about the recent measures the government has taken to enhance opportunities for foreign investors.

The Prime Minister assured the President that the Qatari Government is committed to working with the government of Maldives to increase more Qatari investment in Maldives. He further said that increased investment from Qatar would bring the two nations closer and help to further strengthen ties between the two countries.
