MATATO to host Maldives Travel Awards in December
Maldives Promotion House – Maldives Travel Awards of MATATO (Maldives Association of Travel Agents & Tour Operators) is scheduled to take place in December 2013. Participation process will begin during early April and will close during mid May.
With the initiative of MATATO in hosting the first and only travel awards of Maldives, the Grand Finale of 2012 Maldives Travel Awards was held during the week of World Tourism Day at Paradise Island Resort & Spa. Industry partners appreciated the award as a great initiative.
Preparations for the Maldives Travel Awards 2013 has begun and the event manager Highrise has conducted an information session for the participating partners from the industry in February at Dharubaaruge in Male’.
“The main objective of having pre-information sessions are to have feedback from participants about how we can improve and add their opinions in areas where we can by consulting with MATATO”. Unlike last event, Highrise will not be selling the title of the event to sponsors and there will be main , co and associate sponsors. New categories like Guest Houses will added into the award entitlements due to the growing new sector and in order to appreciate the value of service and products.
It is scheduled to open participation for Maldives Travel Awards 2013 during early April and scheduled to close the participation by mid may, giving everyone enough time (one and half months) for participation and submit the required materials. As long as the participation is finalized MATATO will choose a professional panel for judging and the online voting will be counted in the process during the evaluation.
The leading event management company Highrise has been officially appointed by MATATO to organize and manage the Maldives Travel Awards for a period of 3 years (2012, 2013 and 2014)
