Quran memorisation is virtuous and important- Dr. Rashid Zahrani

The visiting professor from the Saudi King University Dr. Rashid Zahrani has said that the memorisation of the Quran is a virtuous deed and is important in preserving the identity of the Muslim ummah.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Masjid Thakurufaanu Mohamed Audham to inaugurate the Quran memorisation classes, Dr. Zahrani said that the efforts made to foster the knowledge of the Quran and the memorisation of Quran has been reaping its benefits in the Maldives.

The professor said that these projects should be aided in all aspects and should continue. He said that he is very happy to be part of this program held in the Maldives to foster the knowledge of Quran and memorisation of Quran. He said that he is very happy to meet the organisers of this project.

Dr. Zahrani said that holding Quran classes is witnessed in all of the Islamic countries and it is good that this is seen in the Maldives.

Underscoring the importance of memorising Quran, the visiting professor said that he thanks Allah for facilitating this program to be held in the Maldives. He also expressed his gratitude to Minister of Islamic Affairs and others who are partaking in the project.
