No one has the right to criticise 'Hadd' punishments- Sheikh
Shaheem
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has said that no one has the right to criticize or issue religious edicts against the 'Hadd' punishments prescribed by Allah.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Minister Sheikh Shaheem said that the penal code enacted now stipulates the "Hadd" punishment optional. However, he said that the implementation of the Hadd punishments is an obligation and it is totally unacceptable to change the laws sent down by Allah.
Sheikh Shaheem noted that the "Hadd" punishment is not implemented on anyone based on mere conjecture but rather after assuring with full conviction leaving no doubt that charged is guilty as charged. He said that if it is found that the charged is guilty then there is no way that the "hadd" punishment should be left unimplemented on the guilty.
In addition to Minister Sheikh Shaheem said that the punishment can be postponed if there is any necessity such as health implications. However he noted that the punishment cannot be withdrawn.
