Developments of the nation shouldn't be taken negatively- Gasim

Gasim Ibrahim, leader of the Jumhooree Party and the member of the Peoples' Majlis for the Maamigili constituency has stated that projects initiated for the development of the nation should not be taken negatively.

Gasim Ibrahim, Chairman of Villa Group made this remark yesterday at the ceremony held to inaugurate Villa International Airport in Maamigili island of South Ari atoll. He said that development projects will always reap its benefit for the people and the nation and therefore no one should cause doubts regarding such projects.

Gasim said that the airport is not his own property. He said that today he has been burdened with a great responsibility and he reached this stage after walking past many challenges and difficulties.

"President Dr. Waheed has today given me a big responsibility. This airport is not my property. This airport would not been inherited by my children when I die. This is the property of this nation. This is a property of the people of this nation," he said.

Gasim noted that it was the hard work of President Dr. Waheed that truly painted his dreams. He said that the nation has seen many good changes and development since the ascension of President Waheed as the President of Maldives. He said that he is not saying this out of exaggeration but rather it is a fact that no one can deny.
