All students who pass in more than 5 subjects in A’levels will be granted free degree schols- Gasim

Gasim Ibrahim has said that all students who pass in more than five subjects in GCE A’Level exams will be given free degree scholarships in a government of Jumhooree Party.

Leader of the Jumhooree Party, MP Gasim said that all students in grade eight and above will be given laptops for free in a government of his party. He said that if the state budget cannot cover the costs he himself will personally spend on it.

Gasim said that he will never follow the footsteps of previous presidents and will not be a despot or a leader who wants to be the President of the Maldives for the next five hundred years.

“I have been in the forefronts of these political changes that we see today in the country. I am the one who spent the most for this nation. I was oppressed during these efforts. And with the result of this the constitution was amended. However, the people are not still able to taste the sweetness of this new constitution. This is what I want to change. All people should witness and taste the sweetness of the constitution,” he said.

Gasim also vowed to establish sewage systems and water supply system in all the inhabited islands during the second year of his presidency.

In addition to this Gasim refuted and rebutted the accusations made against him by those who are in opposition to him. He said that some of them are acting like as if his decision to contest in the presidential election gives them shivers.
