Speaking to Miadhu Daily, Iyaad noted that the Adhaalath party have not done enough works to gain members to the party because the party was busy in reform works.

“Since the inception of the party, we were faced with many big challenges. Many issues strange to Islam were being introduced to Maldives. We have been striving against these ideologies. Therefore our biggest priority was given to preserve and uphold Islamic unity of the country. Our manifesto is this,” he said.

Iyaad said that the first of works of the Adhaalath Party is to expand the opportunities for the religious scholars to foster the correct Islamic teaching in the Maldives through sermons and writings. He said that Adhaalath played a pivotal role in resolving the Arabiyyah School issue and the selling of alcoholic beverages in inhabited islands.

In addition to this Iyaad said that the members of the Peoples’ Majlis up until the passing of the political party bill assured that the minimum membership of a registered party would not exceed 5000 and therefore the party did not focus on gaining members.
