Flag hoisting ceremony held to mark the National Day

A special flag hoisting ceremony has been held to mark the National Day of 1434AH. The ceremony held at L.Fonadhoo Council Office was graced by the President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik. He was welcomed on his arrival by the Minister of Home Affairs Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed. 

In the ceremony which began with the recitation of Holy Quran, the flag of the Laamu Atoll Council was hoisted by MNDF soldiers. Minister of Defence and National Security Colonel (Ret.) Mohamed Nazim, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam, some cabinet ministers, staff of Atoll Council, soldiers of MNDF Central Area and citizens of the island took part in this event. 

Furthermore, the national flag was also hoisted at the Republic Square, Male’ by MNDF, and also at MNDF Southern Area and Lh.Madivaru, MNDF Northern Area. The flag hoisting ceremony at Lh.Madivaru was honored by the Acting Commander, MNDF Northern Area Colonel Abdulla Zuhuree while the flag hoisting ceremony at Southern Area was honored by Acting Commandant, MNDF Service Corps Colonel Abudurraheem Abdul Latheef. MNDF Officers and soldiers of the respective components also participated in these events.
