Maldives Parliament speaker to visit Angola
The Parliament speaker of the Republico f Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, will on 7-9 January pay his first official visit to Angola, aimed to reinforce interparliamentary cooperation ties.
According to a press note from the Angolan National Assembly that reached Angop on Friday, during his stay in the country, Maldives speaker will be received in private by his Angolan counterpart, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, and then he will meet the heads of parliamentary groups of the National Assembly.
According to the document, the agenda also includes official talks between the parliamentary delegations of Angola and Maldives, as well as an official dinner to be offered by the Angolan speaker of the National Assembly.
The note also reads that Abdulla Shahid will visit the new city of Kilamba in Luanda, so as to learn about the national housing boosting programme.
“The Parliament Speaker of Maldives will end his visit in the country by paying homage to the Angolan first and late President, António Agostinho Neto, at his memorial at Luanda’s new Marginal”, reads the note.
