Islamic Ministry
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has said that it is difficult to believe that the Peoples’ Majlis reduced and cut down the budget allocated for the ministry because of economical issues.
Speaking to the press, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Sheikh Mohamed Didi said that the ministry is raising concern regarding the reduction of the budget because the budget was cut down so much that it will be hardly possible for the manage the works of the ministry from that budget.
“I believe that the members of the Peoples’ Majlis should understand this. It is difficult to believe that the Majlis cut down the budget due to economical reasons. We are sure that the ministry will face a lot of difficulty and hardship as a consequence of this decision of the Majlis,” he said.
Mohamed Didi said that the budget allocated for the ministry is 128 million ruffiya and 95million ruffiya from this is from the money granted for different PSIP projects and mosque projects.
“So how will the ministry maintain the administration? We won’t have enough to even cover th salaries,” he said.
