Larger parties decides to destroy smaller parties- Shiyam

Meedhoo constituency MP Ahmed Shiyam Mohamed has said that the top four political parties with the largest number of members have decided to destroy the ideologies of the smaller political parties.

MP Shiyam said that the political situation of the country today is very gloomy and top political parties are threatening to eliminate all other parties.

“In democratic countries such as the US and the UK, there exist many smaller political parties and various political ideologies. And as a result of this, it strengthens their social and economic matters. This is the reality that we see today,” he said.

MP Shiyam said that he condemns the decisions of the Peoples’ Majlis to destroy the fate of smaller political parties in the country.

In addition to this MP Shiyam said that Maldives is in a lot of debt and therefore needs a President who is capable of lifting the country from this economic crisis.

“I believe that the President of the Maldives should be a person capable of resolving the debt issues faced by the country,” he said.
