New uniform introduced for Coast Guard

Minister of Defence and National Security Colonel (Ret) Mohamed Nazim has introduced Coast Guard's new uniform as part of its 33rd anniversary celebrations. 

Highlighting the important event of introducing distinct Coast Guard uniform, Minister Nazim said that introduction of a new uniform to the Coast Guard component is an important step taken to modernize the organization alike to that of other countries.

 He also said that this is done to make Coast Guard a professional naval organization and to facilitate Coast Guard to conform with naval counterparts of other countries in this region. ''As our country consists of 99% sea, our aim is to sustain a defence force with the ability of operability at land and sea. So it is of no doubt that our Navy or Coast Guard is one of the most active organization within the framework of MNDF'' said the Minister.

Minister Nazim also pointed on the important services provided by the Coast Guard as a first responder in various emergency situations. He also urged the service to remain with such steadfastness in national service. 

The Minister further said that introduction of a new uniform will give Coast Guard a separate identity and advised Coast Guard soldiers to sustain it with pride.
