Only criminals will shelter criminals- Gasim

Leader of the Jumhooree Party, MP Gasim Ibrahim has stated that only criminals would shelter those who violate the law.

Gasim made this remark speaking at last night's sitting of the weekly public rallies held by the Jumhooree Party at the M. Kunooz platform. He said that if a person is charged with a crime he would be prosecuted and it is a crime in itself to obstruct the prosecution. He stressed that no one should be allowed to do it.

Gasim said that Nasheed has proven himself to be a coward in front of the people. He said that if Nasheed is man enough he should not be hesitant to stand firm and face justice.

Gasim said that if Nasheed believes that he is innocent it is for him to prove his innocence at the court and by fleeing away from justice and defying the court orders he is only showing to the people that he himself believes that he is guilty as charged.

Gasim recalled his arrest during Nasheed's regime. He said that he went to the Police station himself when he was informed that the Police were searching for him. He said that he knew that he would be arrested when he went to the Police station.

Gasim said that all criminals should be prosecuted. He said that a peaceful society cannot be established unless the criminals are brought to justice.
