Gasim vows to foil the plots to spread other religions in Maldives
Leader of Jumhooree Party, Gasim Ibrahim has vowed to fail and foil the plots of those trying to spread religions other than Islam in the Maldives.
Gasim Ibrahim said this in reply to a question asked by Miadhu Daily in relation to the occasion of the Maldives’ adherence to Islam.
JP Leader Gasim said that the life of this world is transitory and therefore to choose religions other than the true path of Islam is the most wicked of deeds that a person can do. He said that it is a religious and national obligation upon every Maldivian to stand firm against the threats to the Islamic unity of Maldives. He said that he would do whatever it takes to fulfill this obligation.
Gasim said that it was the sacrifices of our forefathers that preserved the Islamic unity of Maldives and maintained the hundred percent Muslim status of the country since the people of Maldives accepted Islam. He urged all to follow their footsteps and not to take this obligation on their shoulders lightly.
In addition to this Gasim noted the attacks on the Islamic unity of Maldives. He said that the society is now divided because of these plots. He said that those perpetrating these attacks are trying to split the ranks of the people and destroy the Islamic and national spirit of the people.
“I call all the people to be aware of these plots and schemes. If we do not take this seriously we would be from the losers,” he said.
