Gayoom is trying to create rifts between Yaameen and Ilyas to contest in the election- Nasheed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has alleged that the former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom is trying to create friction between Yaameen and Ilyas to contest in the election on the claims to save the PPM from splitting.

Nasheed made this remark speaking at the rally of the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) held at Usfasgandu area on Thursday night.

Nasheed strongly criticized the President of PPM Gayoom and said that although Gayoom is much older than him in age they are both in equal in politics.

MDP presidential candidate, Nasheed expressed confidence that he will win the upcoming presidential election easily and will take the oath of presidency on 11 November this year. He said that is certain that he will easily defeat Gayoom in the very first round of the election if Gayoom was to contest in it.

Nasheed said that he enough popularity among the people to win the election. He said that he does not have to do much campaign to win the election.
