8 Groups given permit to take pilgrims to Hajj and Umra


Islamic Affairs ministry has revealed the ministry have issued permits to 8 groups, who applied for permits to take pilgrims to Hajj and Umra this year.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Islamic Affairs ministry yesterday, Deputy Minister Sheikh Mohamed Faroog said that the groups were given a total quota of 874 people from the 1000 people quota.

Deputy Minister Sheikh Faroog said that the remaining 126 peoples' quota will be used to send the 126 people who paid to Maleesha Hajj group last year but were not able to perform Hajj. He said that the government will publicize within two weeks the procedure on how these people will be sent to perform Hajj pilgrimage this year.

Sheikh Faroog that this year many groups requested permission to take pilgrims to Hajj and Umra.

"17 groups submitted their proposals. 2 groups were disqualified. 8 groups were given permit from the 15 groups qualified," he said.

The Hajj and Umra groups permitted to take people for Hajj and Umra this year are Mina Hajj and Umra group Pvt Ltd, US Investment Pvt. Ltd, Sisilfaru Hajj and Umra group, Hamalatul Ikhlasul lil Hajj wal Umra Pvt. Ltd, Echro Pvt Ltd, Albatros International Pvt. Ltd, Athama Hajj group Pvt. Ltd and Zai group Pvt. Ltd.
