Questions arise whether  there will be Islam in Maldives if MDP gained 58 seats.

Parliament member of Maavashu constituency Abdul Azeez Jamaal has said that questions will arise whether Islam will be there if  MDP had got 58 seats during the parliamentary elections. Azeez said MDP came to power to get lots of money through various means but they couldn’t get the expected number of seats in the parliament and this is the biggest loss to them.

He said, the main gate of Maldives- the airport and other expensive assets were given at cheaper rates because they didn’t get the expected money. Giving simple examples, Azeez said a man can buy a motorcycle for about 50,000 rufiya but when the man gets an incurable disease, he would let it go to any price which is available at that time. He said MDP also faced the same case and they ruled the country in the same manner.

Speaking about giving the airport to GMR, Azeez said this was done with not looking to the interests of the people of the country. He said if MDP looked into the interest of the people, they would not have given all powers of the airport to a company from abroad.

Speaking about MDP being disloyal to the country, Azeez said MDP gave Dhiraagu and water company’s shares at very low rates.
