There is no condition that should be proposed on
removing Maldives from CMAG agenda – Waheed Deen
Vice President Mohamed Waheed Deen has said that there is no certain condition that should be proposed and no condition can be made on removing Maldives from Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group CMAG agenda.
During a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rahman Maalik, after concluding SAARC Interior Ministers meeting held at Bandos Island resort, Waheed Deen said, Maldives democracy is based on the country’s constitution. He said all the work is done according to the constitution and CMAG cannot order anything to do to Maldives.
Vice President said Maldivians are very democratic and they go through the right path on democracy. He also said that no country can complete a democracy system in one day but Maldives has achieved very much progress in this race.
During the meeting with the Pakistani Minister , Waheed Deen said Pakistan has helped Maldives in various ways and the aids are very beneficial to the country. He also thanked Pakistan for always having a close relationship with Maldives.
Speaking about the introduction of anti islam views to Maldives, Vice President said due to the pressure of some people from outside the country, we don’t have to step back because Maldives has signed up certain resolutions.
Pakistani Minister Malik said Pakistan has always maintained a special relationship with Maldives and the iver powering of big countries with small countries is a serious concern in Pakistan.
Rahman Malik invited the Vice President to make a visit to Pakistan.
