Nasheed cannot leave country without notifying the court
Some media has reported that the Hulhumale’ Court has issued a court order barring former President Mohamed Nasheed without notifying the court in relation to the case of the illegal detention of Criminal Court Chief Judge Abdullah Mohamed.
Hinnavaru constituency MP Ibrahim Mohamed Salih of opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) told Miadhu Daily that he has received similar information but he has no additional information regarding the matter.
Some medias reveal that the Hulhumale’ Court issued similar orders against the other five people related to the case. However due to unexpected circumstances the order was not handed over to all of the recipients.
The Court granted them the chance to appoint their lawyers. In addition to this the court also informed that the documents related to the case is available from the court.
Some of the media also informs that the court order was handed over to Nasheed yesterday. At the time of print, the official website of the MDP did not confirm this. However some social network pages of the MDP confirms the news.
Hulhumale’ Court issued the order while Nasheed recently claimed that he cannot be charged with crime.
Home Minister Dr.Jameel said that Nasheed has done many crimes and no one is above the law. He reiterated that like any other person who is charged with crime Nasheed will also have to face the court room.
