We are initiating a project to provide housing for all- Dr. Muizz

Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Muizz has said that one of the policies of the government is to provide housing for all. He said that the agreement signed with Turkey’s Bora company is the initiation of this mega project of the government.

Dr. Muizz made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at Traders Hotel to sign the agreement between Bora Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Sirketi and Housing Development Corporation to develop 14 plots of land as mixed condominiums in Hulhumalé.

Minister Dr. Muizz assured that this mega project will be hundred percent successful. He said that the Bora company’s representatives came to Maldives during May and we gave them the guarantee that this project will be of benefit for both parties.

“The company found that this can be done as such. And so today we are initiating this project,” he said.

Dr. Muizz noted that Malé, with a land area less than two square kilometres, accommodates more than a third of the country’s population, causing congestion and urban problems. He said that the government gives a great importance to relieve the housing pressures in Malé.

The Minister said that the buildings to be built in Hulhumale’ under this project shall have a mix of commercial and residential units.
