Leasing Gan Airport for 99 years will destroy the future of Addu- Gasim

Jumhooree Party Leader, Gasim Ibrahim has said that the leasing of Addu International Airport for a period of 99 years will destroy the future of the people of Addu City. He said that the Jumhooree Party will never support such an irresponsible decision.

Gasim said that Addu International Airport located in Gan is among the only two international airports in the Maldives and therefore linked to the development and future of the Addu City.

Gasim said that it will be a great harm upon the people of Addu to lease the airport for 99 years for the sake of 6 million dollars per year. He said that his party will never support the selling of the public assets to foreign parties. He said that the party will always stand against such matters.

Gasim said that some people have been spreading false rumours about him making secret deals with GMR. He said that such news is spread because he is against the lease of Addu International Airport for 99 years.

The leader of Jumhooree Party will never support to destroy the future of the people of Addu City by leasing the airport.
