No vote will given to any party in govt coalition in 2013 if MDP is allowed to join govt- Fuwad

Jumhooree Party council member Fuwad Gasim has said that no vote will be given in favour of any political party in the current government’s coalition in the upcoming presidential elections in 2013 if the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is allowed to join the government coalition.

Fuwad said that the government should be aware of the many plots of MDP to save themselves from the legal actions which will be taken against them for the many illegal and criminal activities perpetrated by the MDP. He said that MDP will make many proposals now because they know that they are getting weaker in popularity and strength in Maldivian politics.

Fuwad noted that the MDP leadership is formed by a people who challenged the constitution and rule of law and worked to abolish Islam from the Maldives during their three year rule is not forgotten by the people and therefore the people will never accept MDP in the government.

He said that the people’s opinion on the current government will change if the MDP is allowed to partake in the government coalition.

Fuwad said that the government had given enough time for the MDP to join the coalition but MDP instead remained challenging the constitution. He said that MDP should never be given a chance to return back to their renegade policies in the government.
