8 people sentenced for 7 years for giving damages to VTV

Criminal court has sentenced 8 people for 7 years in jail for giving damages to VTV and the police who were giving security to VTV and its staff. The 8 people who gave damages to VTV on March 19^th are Ahmed Naeem of H.Ladhumaage, Ismail Hamaad of Fehiali R.Maduvaree, Hussein Shifau Jameel of M.Nooruzeyru, Ghaanim Hassan of AA.Feridhoo Azaadhuge, Ahmed Hameed and Hussein Hameed of R.Alifushi Hameedhee Manzil, Ahmed Muheen of G.Haalam and Mohamed Hameed of Male Dhaftharu 7471.

Announcing the sentence Ghaazee said that 3 eye witness had said that they have seen Shifau Jameel, Mohamed Hameed and Ahmed Muheen throwing stones at VTV and the security. And two eyewitness had said they had seen Ahmed Hameed, Hussein Hameed, Ismail Hamaad and  Ghaanim Hassan throwing stones at VTV. Also Ghaazee said that the photos and video footage presented to the trial identifies clearly these people giving damages to VTV. Ghaazee said Ahmed Naeem had given evidence that he had been at Family court on that day. But the evidence is not sufficient as he had been seen in the video footages.

The 8 have been sentenced under the law of terrorizing and having of sharp things which can harm others.

VTV  staffs were mentally and physically assaulted on March 19^th. Huge loss was given to VTV by damaging the building and the glasses of the station.
