JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim returns to Male’


Leader of Jumhooree party Qasim Ibrahim has returned to Male’ after concluding his non official visit to Europe. Senior officials from Jumhooree party, members from the party and some parliament members and well wishers welcomed him on his arrival. Some of the officials who were at the airport to welcome Qasim said, they were there to welcome Qasim because some media had revealed information some serious issues regarding his health. Others said they were there because he is the presidential candidate from the party.

Qasim denied the news that were spread about the seriousness of his health on some media, TV channels  and social networks. He also said he haven’t got any information regarding Deputy Leader Jabir’s resignation. He said nobody can force the other to be in the party and everyone has the right to leave or stay in the party. And also its his personal issue. He said he doesn’t believe that there is any reason for Jabir to leave the party. But if he has a reason its his decision and he will know the best to take a decision on his issue, Qasim said.

Qasim said there will be differences everywhere and in Jumhooree party too, there are members with different views and he said it is not problem as long as he is not out of the rules and regulations of the party.

JP leader told he believe in working to the well being of the people of the country and not for the betterment of one’s own. And his stand in this is to give priority in the well being of the people of the country, he said.

Qasim Ibrahim said although the party haven’t held a ceremony to announce the Presidential candidate of the party, campaign work have started.

Speaking about the social protection of people of the country , Qasim said the whole country is now in chaos and few people are making the right wrong and they are jeopardizing the harmony of the country. And he said we should not let it happen. He said laws should be enforced and the work on eliminating corruption should be for 24 hours.  Qasim said our forefathers handed us the country, as country of peace and security. So, it is our duty to protect the country from the current situation. He said no outsiders are involved in murdering Maldivians and the Maldivians are the ones who are killing Maldivians. So, it is our duty to protect our country from such evils and hand it to the next generation with safe and security, Qasim said.
