With new markets, new resorts will be full soon – Maleeh
MMPRC has said that they have full confidence that new resorts will be full with new markets. Deputy Minister of Tourism Maleeh said we are counting the final 120 days of this year and 50 days have passed. He said during these 50 days many work has been done in promoting tourism and Maldives as a tourism destination.
Speaking about the work done to promote tourism Maleeh said they have held roadshows in 5 countries and the roadshows held in Ukraine, Czech Republic and Poland were very successful.
He said they have to explain very much to countries which doesn’t know much about Maldives. He said they had to explain that resorts of Maldives are isolated from one another and the geographical areas too. Maleeh said during the roadshows held at Ukraine and Poland they met senior officials from the tourist industries of the respective countries and also officials from the tourism agencies. He said an agreement between Maldives and Ukraine will be signed soon and journalists from Ukraine will visit Maldives next year to promote Maldives tourism in their country. He also said the biggest aim of MMPRC will be to bring media personnel from other countries to advertise Maldives tourism abroad.
He said Turkish National Airline will soon operate flights to Maldives next month and this is a very important step for tourism of Maldives because many tourist from Eastern Europe will come to Maldives.
Maleeh said they have met more than 100 media agencies and they have started writing articles about Maldives now. He said introduction of new flights to Maldives means more tourist will come to Maldives and there will be more demand for the resorts.
