Riyaz Rasheed resigns from Qaumee Party

The only member who represents Qaumee Party at People’s Majlis has resigned from the party. Speaking to V News, Riyaz rasheed said he had prepared his resignation letter and today he will submit formally to the party’s secretariat. Asked why he is resigning, Riyaz said he had the thought of resigning from the party for some days and to go further in politics it is important for him to take the step. When asked for which party he is going to sign, Riyaz didn’t give the exact answer but said he will announce everything in today’s newsconference.

But according to one of his friends in Majlis, who gave the information on not stating his name as a condition said, Riyaz will sign to Jumhooree party very soon with him. And the signing ceremony will be shown by media very soon, the member said.

Only two candidates from Qaumee party succeeded in their parliamentary elections which was held in 2009 . They were Riyaz Rasheed and Maradhoo constituency member from Addu Hassan Adil. But later Adil joined Jumhooree party.

After Riyaz Rasheed, there will be no member in maljis to represent Qaumee party.
