Speaker Hon. Abdulla Shahid, MP requests ‘cash aid’ for bereaved family of the late Dr. Afraasheem Ali, MP

Speaker Hon. Abdulla Shahid, MP has sent a letter to the General Purpose Committee requesting ‘cash aid’ to alleviate financial distress of bereaved family of the late Dr. Afraasheem Ali, MP.

The letter was sent upon request of Members representing political parties and Independents represented in Parliament. In his letter, the Speaker said he welcomed assurances of a quick review by the General Purpose Committee.

Also . People’s Majlis has announced that a special service in remembrance of the life of late Dr.Afraasheem Ali, MP will be held on 8 October 2012.

Speaking during a press conference held yesterday, Deputy Speaker Ahmed Nazim, MP said the Act of Remembrance of the late MP, would be held at 9:00 pm at Islamic Center.

Speaker Hon. Abdulla Shahid, MP, Members representing political parties and Independents represented in Parliament will speak at the service. A family member of the late Dr. Afraasheem Ali, MP will also speak at the service.

 Vice President Mohamed Waheed Deen has yesterday signed the book of condolence opened at People’s Majlis for the grieving of late Dr. Afraasheem Ali, MP of Un’goofaaru Constituency.
