Not a problem if Commonwealth says it will observe Maldives – Abbas

Press Secretary Abbas Adil Riza has said that it is not a problem if Commonwealth and CMAG say that it will observe political issues of Maldives. Speaking to Miadhu news, Abbas said Commonwealth is a big organization with 54 member countries and the organization looks problems of all the member countries. So its not something that we should get very much worried, Abbas said.

Abbas said, in the concluding statement of CMAG, ministers have stated that CMAG will observe Maldivian issues and some people are creating this as a big issue because they want to mislead the people of the country.

He said if any government does something which is against the law and constitution, international organizations and almost all the countries of the world will talk about it and will take action against that country. But not even a single organization or a country and UN haven’t found any problem related to Maldives and they are always helping Maldives in various ways, he said. So, he said how can people believe on the talks being spread by the opposition.

He said President Dr.Mohamed Waheed is getting popular in the world and the world will not believe in whatever people are talking against about him.
