President Waheed has become a national hero of the kind of Ibrahim Nasir- Hassan Saeed

President’s Special Adviser Dr. Hassan Saeed has praised President Dr. Mohamed Waheed for the exemplary leadership he has proven in cancelling the agreement leasing Ibrahim Nasir International Airport to India’s GMR Infrastructure. Hassan Saeed who is among President’s most trusted aides elaborated President Waheed has saved the airport from the GMR with the same bravery and tolerance as emulated by former President late Ibrahim Nasir who attained political independence of the country from Britain.

President Waheed’s courage and sagacity has saved our sovereignty, independence and economy, Hassan who is the leader of Qawmy Party said.

“ Dr. Waheed has been in office just for 9 months, his party is small and there is no one from the party in the cabinet,  yet he has proved he can rule this country ably, he has proven himself as an extraordinary leader.’ Hassan said.

President Waheed is working for the benefit of the people, and makes decision in consultation with many people.

There is speculation that while President Waheed will contest in the 2013 presidential election, Hassan will be his running mate. There are also rumours that both leaders will run in the presidential race from former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom’s party PPM.
