The Public Accounts Committee decides to review the Border

The 66th meeting of the Public Accounts Committee was held today.
Members considered information sent in by authorities regarding the Border Control System project, conducted by the Department of Immigration and Emigration. Since the information received implied possible corruption involved in the operation of the project, members decided to review the issue again.
Members who attended the committee meeting were the Chair Ahmed Nazim, MP, Dhiggaru; Visam Ali, MP, Maduvvari; Abdulla Yameen, MP, Mulak; Ahmed Hamza, MP, Bilaidhoo; Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed, MP, Fuahmulak-South; Ahmed Saleem, MP, Eydhafushi; Mohamed Nashiz, MP, Alifushi; Mohamed Nasheed, MP, Nolhivaram and Abdulla Jabir, MP, Kaashidhoo.
Thursday night, while speaking at the PPM’s first anniversary Rally Abdulla Yamin said he or PPM never support this project since he don’t believe a poroject which can be carried out with around 2 million dollars should reach 50000 dollard. “But I get panicked when come to know how much the government has to re pay to cancel the agreement. Government should bring out such information to the public. So they can decide on what the former Rulers has done to the nation.”
