Political Advisor of the President, Ahmed Thaufeeg has said that the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) is trying to lure the coalition members of the government against the government in a crafty attempt to create rifts within the coalition.

Thaufeeg said that MDP is tirelessly attempting to rifts within the government coalition to weaken the government.

Thaufeeg said that the coalition members have a responsibility that they have all agreed upon. He said that it is to support the government until the presidential election of 2013.

Referring to the motion held yesterday regarding taking secret votes in no confidence motions against the President and Members of the Cabinet, the political advisor of the president noted that some members of the coalition government became bait to the MDP. He said that the government has to take this to consideration.

In addition to this, Thaufeeg said that Fathimath Dhiyana Saeed was not appointed as the Minister of Gender, Family and Human Rights through Jumhooree Party.
