Police will reveal the details on the Afrasheem’s murder probe- President

President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan has said that the Maldives Police Service has found promising leads in the investigation of the murder of Dr Afrasheem Ali, Majlis member of the Raa Ungoofaaru region.

The President made this remark while speaking to the people of Ungoofaaru, as part of his current visit to some islands in North Maalhosmadulu Atoll.

The President said that Maldives Police Service will be revealing the details of the investigation to the public soon. He said that the Police are exercising all its tools and also foreign aid in bringing to justice, those responsible for this act of brutality.

In his speech, the President highlighted Dr Afrasheem Ali’s invaluable services in the parliament and in spreading religious awareness in the country.

President Dr Waheed said that Maldives is not what it used to be and the country has changed a lot. He said that the people of Maldives used to live in peacefulness and harmony but now times have changed and the people now face new fears in their daily life.
