President Waheed meets with concerned authorities on solving
the challenges faced by Maldivian Hajj Groups
President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today met with all concerned authorities, and held discussions on finding more feasible means of getting Hajj permit, and monitoring as best as possible, the well-being of all Maldivian pilgrims. The meeting was held at the President’s Office this morning.
Minister of Islamic Affairs Sheikh Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdul Samad Abdulla, Minister of Finance and Treasury Mr Abdulla Jihad, Minister of Defence and National Security Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim, Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority Dr Fazeel Najeeb, and Head of Islamic Finance at the Capital Market Development Authority Uza Aishath Muneeza were in attendance at the meeting.
Islamic Minister Sheikh Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed says he has suggested to the President a scheme, in which the people can participate as they wish and secure funds to go Hajj. “It’s really necessary to establish a scheme of that nature in Maldives. Maldivians love to visit Makkah and do Farulu Hajj.” He stated.
