China completes 1000 housing units in Hulhumale’
China has always been cooperative to Maldives- President

China has completed the construction of thousand housing units in Hulhumale’ and has handed over the units to the government yesterday. President Dr Mohamed Waheed participated on behalf of the government of Maldives at the  commencing ceremony of Inspection of Completion of one thousand housing units in Hulhumale’,.

The President noted the close ties that exist between the Maldives and China, and expressed confidence that the relations would continue to strengthen. He also expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for their continuous assistance provided in various areas of need in the Maldives.

President Dr Waheed also thanked China Machinery and Engineering Corporation (CMEC) for their exceptional work in the housing project.

President Waheed expressed satisfaction over the work being done by CMEC in building the housing units.

The President also expressed thanks to former President Mohamed Nasheed and former Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam for their efforts and support for the project.

The President said that the government strongly emphasises the importance of housing projects. He noted that six housing projects have been completed successfully through the aid of the Chinese government.
