Maldives is awarded more medals despite the boycott campaign-
Adeeb
Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Adeeb has said that the Maldivian tourism industry has been awarded more and more medals despite the boycott campaign initiated by traitors of the Maldivian nation.
Adeeb said that those who are trying to destroy the tourism industry are extremist politicians whose aim is to destroy the economy of Maldives.
He said that the people leading this campaign is working in the Maldives and in UK, their partner Hardingham and his family are calling for boycott of the Maldivian resorts. He said that those working in the UK are three close companions of former President Mohamed Nasheed. He added that the many awards Maldivian tourism industry has been getting these few months is proof enough that the plots of these traitors are being foiled.
Adeeb said that the best way to confront these individuals is by promoting the whole of the country as a tourism destination.
“We are seeing the success of this initiation. Maldives is gaining more publicity as a number one tourism destination,” he said.
In addition to this Adeeb said that the 14 islands announced to be developed as tourist resorts have been opened for bids.
The islands opened for bid include Raa atoll Fasmandhu, Lhaviyani atoll Ukolhu sandbank, Vaavu atoll Bodumohoraa, Meemu atoll Dhihthundi, three islands from Laamu atoll, Hulhiyandhoo, Olhutholhu, Uvadhevifushi, five islands from the Gaafu Alif atoll, Bihurehaa, Bodu Bondeyyaa, Falhuvehrahaa, Maamutaa, Lhossaa and two islands from Gaafu Dhaal atoll, Kannigillaa and Rahadhuvaa.
