Sincerity in faith and truthfulness are vital to a soldier: Sheikh Ali Zahir

MNDF held its monthly gathering under the theme “Enhancing faith and patriotism” last evening. The guest speaker at the latest edition in this series was Sheikh Ali Zahir bin Saeed Gasim. Sheikh Ali Zahir based his address on the importance of sincerity in faith and truthfulness for a soldier.

Sheikh Ali Zahir highlighted that the profession of arms is one of the best among all to choose for worldly benefits as well as to serve the religion. He stressed that therefore it is very vital for soldiers to be sincere and truthful in all they do. Further, he explained the importance of unity, fraternity, respect and trust among the military family.

Speaking about the unity and fraternity from a religious perspective, he said that those values are very much encouraged in Islam and that Islam considers all humans as brothers and sisters. Sheikh Ali Zahir pointed out that history shows us that all the great victories achieved by Muslims were a direct result of the brotherhood among them. Speaking further, he said that the example of the Muslim community is one soul in separate bodies and he called upon all the soldiers of MNDF to uphold these great religious and human values
