Religious scholars are being harassed to abolish Islam from Maldives: Sheikh Mohamed Didi
Minister of State for Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed Didi has said that the recent increase in the harassment targeted against religious scholars who are tirelessly working to foster the correct Islamic awareness among the people is from the plots to abolish Islam completely from the Maldives.
Sheikh Mohamed Didi said that reviling the religious scholars is from the major sins and no person who fears Allah will do such a vile action.
“Even those who work openly against Islam they do not speak against the fundamentals and the values of Islam. What they do is they will speak against the character of the noble Prophet, peace be upon him. They will slander him. They will try to cause doubts regarding the honour of the Prophet. This is the methodology of the Islamophobes,” he said.
Sheikh Mohamed Didi said that all should be very cautious regarding these issues. He added that such acts are committed by those who want to cause doubts regarding the religion by reviling and slandering the scholars.
He said that those who are trying to destroy the honour of the religious scholars in Maldives by slandering them and harassing them in every possible way are those who fear the truth of Islam from reaching the people.
“If the people are aware of the true teachings of the religion then it will be impossible for these people to come to power. They cannot implement the acts of corruption. The people will stand against them. The people will reject them in the different elections. This the reason why these people are trying to cause friction between the people and the religious scholars,” he said.
