Nasheed’ds 18 different reason of “COUP”
There were plans to kill me in military HQ- Nasheed
Former President Mohamed Nasheed has said that there were plans to kill him in the military Head Quarters on 7th February.
Speaking to the media, Nasheed yesterday said that he witnessed the military preparing to kill in the military head quarters on 7th February. He said that they were planning to throw him into lynch mob as was done to the first President ofMaldives, Mohamed Ameen. He said that however the plots were foiled.
Nasheed said that he saw officers of the Police and the military giving lectures on how to kill him.
“When Mohamed Ameen was thrown to a lynch mob, he was not killed on that day. They couldn’t kill him on that same day. However on February 7 I saw them planning to kill me with my own eyes. Different officers of the Police and the military were lecturing on ways to take my life,” he said.
Political analysts say that Nasheed’s announcement is in total contradiction to the resignation speech in which he said that one of reasons he has decided to resign is ‘to prevent foreign influence in the Country’s internal affairs’. They say that his statement is also seen to be in defiance of constitutional procedures relevant to such eventualities.
Nasheed’s move is interpreted by analysts as yet another public relation stunt to consolidate his diminishing support amongst MDP grassroots amongst the geographically dispersed communities of the Maldives.
Meanwhile, ‘At gunpoint’, ‘under threat of the army opening fire on the public (the lynch mob he referred to last night)’, ‘police threat to storm the army headquarters’, ‘to prevent foreign influence in domestic affairs’, are just a few amongst the many surprises Nasheed continues to pitch at local and International media since he announced ‘voluntary resignation’ on the 7th of February.
