MNDF Dh.Kudahuvadhoo Post inaugurated


MNDF Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo Post was declared open yesterday by the Minister of Defence and National Security Mohamed Nazim.

Speaking at the ceremony held at the Post the Minister said that the Post is established mainly as part of the program to extend firefighting service throughout the country. He also highlighted that this post will be a source to extend other MNDF service such as assistance in maritime distress situations and services that are available from other MNDF Posts. He also stressed that this will be a source to increase the job opportunities in the area of auxiliary firefighters while enhancing the development and progress of the island.

Expressing his sincere gratitude to the MNDF Central Area Commander Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor for his dedicated services in enhancing the bond between MNDF and citizens and upgrading the services of the MNDF Central Area within the Atolls Meemu, Faafu, Dhaalu, Thaa and Laamu, the Minister said that this new Post is a great expectation of the citizens of the island and this will not only benefit the Kudahuvadhoo citizens but also neighboring islands as well.

The Minister also paid his gratitude for Dhaalu Atoll Council, the Kudahuvadhoo Island Council, Ministry of Home Affairs and the citizens of Kudahuvadhoo for their notable assistance in establishing this Post. Additionally, he specifically stressed on the contribution of the Central Area Commander and the soldiers in completing this Post.

During the ceremony held to inaugurate the Post, the National Flag and MNDF Flag were hoisted by the Defence Minister Hon. Mohamed Nazim and the Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam respectively.

The Dh. Kudahuvadhoo region Member of the Peoples’Majlis Ahmed Amir, Dhaalu Atoll Council president Ismail Saeed, MNDF Central Area Commander Brigadier Zakariyya Mansoor and the President of Kudahuvadhoo Council Ibrahim Fikree, members of Dhaalu Atoll Council and Kudahuvadhoo Island Council also participated in this ceremony.
