Impartiality of PG is questionable for not prosecuting Nasheed for his illegal rhetoric: Gasim

Jumhooree Party leader, the local philanthropist Gasim Ibrahim has said that the impartiality of the Prosecutor General is questionable for not prosecuting former President Mohamed Nasheed for his unconstitutional and illegal statements.

Gasim made this remark speaking at the ceremony held at the junction near BuruzuMagu and KoarukendiMagu to celebrate the strong support and endorsement of the Peoples’ Majlis to the government by approving the Vice President and the Cabinet appointed by the President.

Gasim urged the Prosecutor General to hasten to clarify to the people the reality of former President Nasheed.

Gasim said that there is no opportunity for those who want to cause corruption and mischief in Maldives. He said that Nasheed have opposed and challenges the law during his presidency and is now destroying his own party.

He said that the MDP should be ashamed to protest calling for the reinstatement of the deducted salary from the Civil Servants when it was MDP who took it away from them.

Gasim also said that the people will never forgive those who falsely accuse the Police and the military of plotting a coup.

“Nasheed has now hijacked the party although he has no real authority in MDP. He said that the truth is very clear to the people and the international community regardless of the ignorance and fanaticism of the few followers of Nasheed.
