President calls for greater support to the hard work of
Maldives Police Service
President Dr Mohamed Waheed has called on the people to extend greater support to the hard work of the Maldives Police Service.
Speaking at the ceremony held last night to mark the 79th anniversary of Maldives Police Service, President Dr. Waheed commended the work of the Police to protect and serve the people of Maldives and also to preserve law and order.
The President urged the public to extend their full cooperation to the Police in their efforts to enforce unity, order and peace in the society.
In his speech, the President said the government’s aim was to increase public respect, trust and admiration for the Police.
He called on the Police to show compassion and love while executing their duties. President Dr. Waheed also discussed the challenges faced by the Police and ways to address them and promised government’s full support to the Police.
The President also said that a land has been allocated in Hulhumale’ to build flats for Police Officers. He said that the project will be initiated in the near future.
President Dr. Waheed also underscored the importance of Maldives Police Service in strengthening its ability to keep the nation safe.
The President said that Maldives Police Service has achieved a lot and are doing good work to enforce the law and order, protect and reduce civil disorder throughout the nation.
