Maldivian soldiers have always maintained their standard of discipline: Abdurrasheed Hussain


MNDF held its monthly gathering under the banner “Enhancing faith and patriotism” last evening. In the gathering held at Bandaarakoshi, MNDF soldiers were addressed by. Abdurrasheed Hussain, a scholar of the Maldivian history.

Speaking at the gathering, Abdurraheem Hussain reiterated that Maldivian soldiers have always maintained its standard of discipline and there are thousands of facts to prove this in the military history of Maldives. He highlighted that the first written “Code of Ethics” of Maldivian soldiers were formulated only 10 years back, on the 110th anniversary of MNDF. Furthermore, he emphasized that although there were no any written Code of Ethics, the soldiers of this country have always maintained its standard of discipline.

Speaking further he said that Maldivian soldiers have always been alert and ready to protect the nation. Moreover, based on the Maldivian history he pointed that the soldiers of this nation have never turned back to the enemy and they are always obedient to their superiors’ orders. Highlighting the importance of obeying orders, he also said the reasons of the obedience of our forefathers are the pulse of faith consolidated in their hearts, the patriotic spirit and the strong desire to obey the superiors.

Chief of Defence Force Major General Ahmed Shiyam, Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Ahmed Mohamed, General Officers, Officers, some retired personnel and Other Ranks also participated in this gathering.
