Maldivian Ambassador Presents his Credentials to the President of Indonesia
Non Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Dato’ Mohamad Zaki presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono yesterday.
The envoy’s Letter of Credence from the President of the Republic of Maldives was presented to His Excellency Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at a special ceremony held at the Presidential Palace (Istana Mardeka), Jakarta.
Following the ceremony, Dato’ Mohamad Zaki thanked Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and assured strengthening of the long standing brotherly relations between the two countries, and conveyed greetings and good wishes from the President and the people of Maldives to the President, government and the people of the Republic of Indonesia.
Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono welcomed the appointment of the Ambassador and expressed belief that there will be close bilateral and economic cooperation between the two countries. He also expressed good wishes to the President of the Republic of Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Waheed and the people of the Maldives.
Dato’ Mohamad Zaki is the first Non Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to be appointed to the Republic of Indonesia. He is currently the High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives in Malaysia and also Non Resident Ambassador to Brunei, Indonesia and Thailand.
