Reciting, Studying and acting upon the Quran is from the most virtuous of actions- Sheikh Ali Zahir

Sheikh Ali Zahir has stated that studying, understanding, reciting, memorizing, and acting upon of the Qur'an is from the most virtuous of actions.

Speaking at the at the awarding ceremony of the 27th National Quran competition yesterday, Sheikh Ali Zahir said that the Quran should be recited with understanding of the meanings conveyed by it. He said that now it is easily accessible with the availability of the translations of the meanings of the Quran in Dhivehi and other languages.

Sheikh Ali Zahir underscored the importance of studying the Quran and said that the Muslim should be keen on it, by reciting it and memorising it and understanding it and acting upon it.

Sheikh Ali Zahir also said that the upcoming blessed month of Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an was revealed. He said that all must devote to studying the Qur’an in this month more than any other thing in Ramadan.

He said that memorizing the Quran is an act of worship and that the one who memorises the Quran seeking the reward from Allah will be blessed in this life and in the hereafter. He said that the memoriser of the Quran should not have any intention of gaining worldly benefits by this virtuous act.

Sheikh Ali Zahid said that the memoriser of the Quran will be given a crown of honour and a garment of honour to wear in the hereafter.
