International Organization for Environment should be formed-Shahid

Peoples Majlis President Abdullah Shahidh has announced that an international organization named World Environment Organization need to be formed.

Speaking in the world summit of legislators which was held from the fifteenth of this month till today he have stated in his speech that there has to more importance given in protecting the environment on an international level and Creating the world environment organization is really important.

He have said that creating such an organization would create awareness of how important protecting the environment is for the future generations, also it’ll be means of conveying the message of the importance of the bond that the humans and the environment share.

In his speech in the summit in Rio deJaneiro tridents palace,  Shahid had said how fragile the environment of countries like Maldives is and the importance of protecting these environment and the ways on how which it can be  carried out at an international level .

Shahid have said “The biggest hurdle against adapting to Environment friendly methods and being carbon neutral is the cost of such projects, in order to continue such projects at sustainable rate. There should be financial assistance given so that there is no complication in the financial budget and we reach a sustainable and greener development”.

Shahid said that he believes that United Nations RIO +20 would be given to Maldives in appreciation of creating awareness within the past five years on the rights of humans and the bond we share with the environment.

The world summit of legislators 2012 is the conference that’s going to be held from the 20th to 22^nd of this month regarding the negative changes in the climate as well as supporting the Rio 20+ Summit and to support the laws on sustainable laws in governing the governments of different countries including the heads of the state government and members.
