Defence Minister visits the Malaysian Armed Forces Staff
College
Minister of Defence and National Security Hon. Mohamed Nazim has visited the Armed Forces Staff College of Malaysia. During an official visit to Malaysia, the Minister visited the Staff College this afternoon and he was warmly welcomed on his arrival by the Commander, Staff College and other senior officers. A guard of honor was presented to the Minister on his arrival by the Student Officers of the Staff College.
During this visit, the Minister witnessed a presentation regarding the Armed Forces Staff College. He also toured at the Staff College facilities and met with the MNDF Officers who are undergoing their studies at the College.
During this official visit to Malaysia, he also met with the Royal Malaysian Army Chief. During this meeting at the Maldives High Commission at Malaysia, discussions were held on the ways and means of improving military relations between both countries and ways of improving human resources of MNDF. The High Commissioner of Maldives to Malaysia HE Mr. Ahmed Zaki, Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Ahmed Mohamed, Commandant of Coast Guard Brigadier General Ahmed Shahid and Principal Director of International Defence Corporation Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Hilmy participated in this meeting.
Moreover, the Minister met with the Director General of Maritime Enforcement Agency, Admiral Datuk Mohammad Amdaan bin Krish this evening. During this meeting, the capacity building of MNDF Coast Guard was discussed.
The Minister is also due to visit the Fire Department of Malaysia and would return on 9th of this month after concluding the official visit.
