No Muslim will be against the death penalty: Sheikh Imran

President of Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdullah has stated that no Muslim will be against the death penalty upon murderers which is prescribed in the Islamic Shariah.

In an interview to Miadhu Daily, Sheikh Imran said that the Islamic Shariah is divine in origin and is perfect for every place and age. He said that no sane person would therefore call for the modification or modernization of this revealed penalty.

In view of the recent claims of MDP Spokesperson Hamid Abdul Ghafoor who said that "MDP does not believe in death penalty, as many countries in the world and statistics don't show that death penalty is effective", Sheikh Imran said that the punishments and the principle of qisas – retribution are prescribed in the Islamic Shariah as a manifestation of divine justice.

Sheikh Imran noted that Saudi Arabia is the only country which implements the death penalty as is prescribed in the Islamic Shariah. He said that the results of the implementation of the death penalty in Saudi Arabia are fruitful and the penalty is very effective.

Sheikh Imran said that it is a matter of grave concern to claim that the death penalty which is prescribed in the Islamic Shariah is not from the beliefs of a certain political party. He said that it is absurd and ridiculous for the humans to challenge the rulings of their Lord who created them and proportioned them.
