State Funeral held to LCpl Adam Haleem 

A state funeral was held to honour late Lance Corporal Adam who of the Maldives Police Service, who was stabbed to death in the early hours of Monday morning.

The 26-year-old policeman’s funeral prayer was held yesterday at Masjid Sultan MohamedThakurufaanu Alauzam after the Asr prayer. The funeral prayer was lead by the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed. A large number of people gathered at the mosque to pray the funeral prayer for the deceased and also gathered at the state funeral held at Galolhu Cemetery.

The state funeral was held to the late Lance Corporal Adam with three guns shot at 4:30 in the evening.

President Dr.Mohamed Waheed and many state dignitaries participated in the funeral. Criminal Court Chief Judge Abdullah Mohamed and many members of the Peoples’ Majlis also were present at the funeral.

In addition to this Former Commissioner of Police Adam Zahir and Ahmed Faseeh and present Commissioner of Police Abdullah Riyaz and many officers of the Maldives Police Service and the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) also participated in the funeral.
